Charles Darwin was a naturalist and geologist. He was born on 12 Feb 1809 in Mount Shrewsbury, England. His father’s name was Robert Darwin and his mother’s name was Susan Darwin. His father was a doctor and financier by profession, while his mother was a doctor. He was the fifth of six children. Davin was educated at the Anglican Shrewsbury School from September 1880 before going to medical school at Edinburgh University.
He made his first discovery on March 27, 1827. He argued that the black spores found on the shell of the shell were actually eggs of the skeletons. Since he had little interest in medical education, his father enrolled him at Christ College to pursue an art degree. He denounced mainstream education and took a deep interest in botany. He graduated in 1831 with a special degree.
Darwin’s Theory of Evolution
In 1831, Darwin set sail for the Maritime Surveillance HMS Beagle. Darwin was there to collect specimens of flora and fauna from countries and islands that visited the ship. The voyage took five years. For Charles Darwin, the most important part of the trip was spending time in the Galapagos Islands. These islands are home to plants and animals not found elsewhere in the world. Darwin saw different tortoises on different islands. Darwin married his first cousin, Emma Westwood, in 1839, at the age of 29. The couple had 10 children. When the Beagle returned to England, Darwin began to study his specimens in more detail, and he realized that the Finch variations on the Galapagos Islands followed a pattern similar to that observed by tortoises.
On all the islands the finches were similar, but the birds on different islands had different beaks. Darwin began to study other animals and plants and began to apply his theory of natural selection to explain how populations evolve. Darwin did not directly publish his findings because they are known to be highly controversial and upset many people. The origins of the species appeared in 1859. It’s a big story. This is because it challenges the truth of the creation story found in the Bible.
Today, Darwin’s theory of natural selection is accepted as a scientific fact, and new fossil discovery is constantly adding to our knowledge of the different stages of evolution. Darwin’s UK $ 10 notes and his statue are on display at the Natural History Museum, London. Two decades of scientific work in 1858. After an investigation, he introduced the theory of revolutionary evolution. More than 120 species are named after Darwin. He died on April 19, 1882, at the age of 73, at Down’s home in Kent, England.
